I wanted a fun way for my students to learn about art history, so I gathered information about art heists. There’s room for many discussions with these cards – see below for ideas. Ideas for Using Art Heist Cards
- Pass them out randomly or sequentially.
- Have students partner share about the heist they read about.
- Have students research if the art has been found since the heist.
- Switch cards with a partner and compare the two heists.
- Have students respond as a warm-up or exit ticket to questions like 1. What was stolen? 2. Where was it stolen? 3. When was it stolen? 4. How was it stolen? 5. What is it worth?
Printing Tips
I recommend printing this pdf file:
- Single-sided
- Color printer
- White Card stock
- Laminate the pages before cutting each card
- Trim the cards leaving 1/4-inch white border around the frame using a paper trimmer.
- Optional: Single hole punch the top left corner to keep the set together on a ring.
- There are 2 heist cards per 8.5×11 page.
- 25 pages total
