Mirror Image Drawing Books for Kids

Helping children draw the other half of a drawing increases their skills to observe and strengthen hand-eye coordination. For younger students, books like Double Draw – have mirror-image drawings, allowing students to finish the fun pictures.

Student Tips

LEFTIES – For left-handed children, turn the book upside down. The coil binding will get in their way while they are trying to draw. Or make sure to provide them the right side completed so they can finish the left.

OVERWHELMED – Students who might feel overwhelmed or complain that it’s too hard – turn the book upside down and encourage them to look at the shapes and lines, not the specific image. Changing their view can change their perspective. If they’re still struggling, take turns drawing the lines and make it a game between you until they have more confidence to do it independently.

PERFECTIONISTS – Encourage perfectionists to make the other half different. Exploring a different outcome that is “right” can lighten the pressure of creating.
